After initiating collaboration with SergipeTec Science Park in Brazil in February 2024, the Institute for Information Industry (III) has once again been recognized by a South American ally. The influential Brasilia Institute of Technology and Innovation (IBTI) has specifically reached out III for a new partnership. On the 22nd April, Brazil time, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for remote cooperation was signed by IBTI President José Gontijo and III President Cheng-Hung Cho. The signing took place under the witness of Taiwan's representative to Brazil, Benito Liao, officials from Brazil's Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações, MCTI), the Federal State Government's Department of Science and Technology, and the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency. In the future, both parties will strengthen cooperation between Taiwan and Brazil in the field of information and communication technology and innovation, assist in developing innovative solutions for the industry, and enhance technological capabilities.

The technology training institute IBTI is committed to developing Brazil's ICT industry, particularly in innovative technology research and development in fields such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, data science, software development, and blockchain. This aligns with the Institute for Information Industry's mission to promote the development of Taiwan's ICT industry. During his speech, III President Cheng-Hung Cho expressed gratitude to Escritório Econômico e Cultural de Taipei no Brasil for facilitating the connection, enabling III to engage in two international collaborations with Brazil within the year. In the future, both parties will focus on exchanging technologies related to artificial intelligence, software development, and information and communication systems, promoting innovative projects for the development of the ICT industry in Taiwan and Brazil. Additionally, the two organizations will assist in building precise talent development models to drive economic growth and technological innovation in both countries.

As a Third-Party Consultant with Robust Digital Transformation Capabilities, III Generates New Momentum in Collaboration with Brazil's IBTI for Taiwan and Brazil's ICT Industries

It is worth mentioning that IBTI President José Gontijo, who previously served as Brazil's Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, has particularly acknowledged III's extensive experience and leading position in the technology sector. IBTI also has long-term collaborations with Brazil's Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations (Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações, MCTI) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico, CNPq), jointly supporting Brazil's development in technology and innovation.

Benito Liao, the Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brazil (Escritório Econômico e Cultural de Taipei no Brasil), pointed out that in addition to actively creating ICT talent cultivation models and developing new technologies for innovation, III also continues to focus on issues such as social digital transformation, digital governance, and digital trust. The MOU signing symbolizes a significant step forward for Brazil and Taiwan in science, technology, and industry. The collaboration is expected to facilitate visits from international exchange groups, strengthen technical cooperation between the two countries, bring new momentum to the development of the ICT industries of both countries, and further promote economic and trade exchanges between Taiwan and Brazil.

Under the global trend emphasizing sustainability, III will continue to assist industries in achieving transformations in both digitalization and net-zero emissions as a third-party consultant, fostering a safer, more sustainable, and trustworthy digital society. Building on this foundation, III will engage in closer exchanges and cooperation with IBTI in the future, leveraging each other's strengths to realize resource sharing and technical exchange, and jointly promoting the development of the technology sectors in both countries.
