Provide innovative software technologies and interoperability standards for Taiwan‘s ICT industry to aid in the development of Taiwan's R&D, interoperability standards and software industry by ensuring accessibility to the latest technologies by the industry.

III performs advanced software R&D and promulgates the use of new software technologies by the domestic ICT industries. For software and service industries, III's objective is to promote innovative approaches and nurture the development of strategic service industries; while for the hardware industry, III's focus is on aiding ICT companies in developing software components that provide added value to their products. To accomplish these aims, III promotes the use of technology transfers and joint development projects to reduce development costs and shorten development cycles. At the same time, it strives to spur growth of the domestic software industry by developing R&D advances that Taiwan companies can leverage.
