Mission:
The mission of ISD (Industry Support Division) is to plan for
a superior informational society for Taiwan, and to develop
an emerging new industry with the industrial environment for
international cooperation by fostering innovative business models.
ISD plays a partner's role with Taiwan's ICT industry in creating
innovations and developing services that transform and propel
Taiwan towards an information economy. The transformation includes
digitalization, networking, mobilization and industrial globalization,
and involves new core capabilities development for competing
in the international market.
The goal of Industry Support Division can be summarized below:
1. Promote knowledge economy
2. Share e-quality
3. Achieve digital equality
4. Accelerate the process for Taiwan to become a world IT readiness
leader
Vision:
The vision of Industry Support Division is to become an important
partner of Taiwan's ICT industry for moving toward the era of
Knowledge Economy. Oriented in Innovation and Services, the
transformation specifically includes the use of digitalization,
networking, mobilization, and globalization of overall industry
with speedy upgrading, transition, and building of new core
capability for competing in the international market.
The ISD's Function includes:
‧Serve as the Taiwan government's think tank in ICT industrial
promotion policies.
‧Assist Taiwan's ICT enterprises to participate in the government's
subsidy and investment programs with respect to technology and
applications R&D.
‧Assist Taiwan's ICT enterprises to understand and exploit market
intelligence and industry trends.
‧Build a comprehensive industry knowledge database service,
and serve as the government's think tank in industry support
services.
‧Assist government in the development of financial programs
for ICT industrial development promotion such as investment
incentive programs and industry sponsoring investment programs,
as well as technical support in lending assessments, and capital
appraisals.
‧Assist Taiwan's enterprises to find and implement international
collaborations or partnerships, and to expand international
procurement and inward investment.
‧Assist Taiwan's enterprises to plan and implement innovative
operations and service models, and to take steps in further
development of an information society. |
