Overview :
III's Severe Weather Monitoring and Forecasting System was created to support and enhance the capabilities of the Central Weather Bureau in Taiwan, by providing enhanced software functions that can shorten the forecast process and obtain data much more efficiently.

This system provides several unique capabilities which have improved current operational functions.

Virtual Data Center: Established a virtual data center to provide flexible data exchange capability.ˇ@Users no longer need to know the physical location of the meteorological data sources. Instead, they can obtain data and graphical charts directly from the system.

Climate Forecasting System: Created a new generation model execution controlling mechanism to support future climate forecast.ˇ@This cross platform system can control model execution on a heterogeneous environment with monitoring and fault tolerance capabilities.

Forecast Information Editing System: This system is designed to match the latest graphical editing weather information concept.ˇ@Forecasters use drawing tools to present future forecasts, and the graphical weather pattern is translated to forecast sheeting according to adjustable configuration.ˇ@The graphical editing grid data function can shorten the forecasting process and create more forecast products.
